The job
Gates and hold points
The next step does not start while one in front of it is open.

Where it is used
Before the next step starts
What it does
- Design risk accepted, inductions done, permits in date, scaffold handed over, power-on, and the ones you add for the job.
- Open means that step has not happened. Closed means someone on the job marked it.
- An open gate is the reason the programme is stuck. You are not guessing which meeting it was lost in.
On the record
- Each gate has an owner. The next step waits.
- A permit, an induction, and a scaffold handover can be the thing the gate is waiting on.
- An open gate is visible on the day, not in the Friday report.
